TEDxWomen is a TEDx event organized by the Paley Center that focuses on women, and women’s issues. TEDxWomen type events are TEDx events hosted around the live webcast of TEDxWomen, and also feature local speakers. Our event is called TEDxBoulderWomen, and is one of many TEDx events happening around the globe on December 1st that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDxWomen.

We have a licence for the TEDWomen Simulcast December 1st. We only have space for 100, so if you would like to attend, please fill out the following form:

A special thank you to all that made this event possible. September 24th 2011 hosted Boulder’s 2nd TEDxBoulder.

All included, it took about 1000 hours of work to get the event together. It was an amazing night with a community focused feel.

TEDxBoulder is an experience; a movement; to change the way we all think and participate in our World. Our team is 100% volunteer and throughout the year we’re always seeking the support of the community in shaping our yearly conference.

You can help in a myriad of ways, including

Recommending speakers, especially those that you know well.
Helping us to find vendors willing to donate their products and services.
Recruiting new sponsors to underwrite our events.
Volunteering your time to support the yearly event.
Writing articles and stories to spread the word.

Upcoming Events

The 2012 TED one day simulcast will be locally broadcast. We only have 100 tickets which include both coffee and lunch. Tickets will go on sale at roughly noon on January 25th here.

The 2012 event date, theme and details have not been announced. Speakers have not been selected, and will not be considered until June 25th, 2012.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is call TEDxBoulder, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBoulder event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Jake Nickell – Never Stop Making

Jake Nickell is Threadless’s young and fearless entrepreneurial leader. Jake has a passion for learning new things, from how to get t-shirts made to figuring out how to design and program an e-commerce website. Currently, he’s focused on running the worldwide, hugely successful business that Threadless has become. He likes to think creatively and unconventionally about how to keep Threadless one step ahead by encouraging nutty employee ideas and staying away from the “business” side of running a business. Jake also continues to keep up his geek cred through a love for programming. When he’s not working, he’s busy hanging out with his wife Shondi, daughter Arli, and son Dash.

Kristen Wheeler – Evolution of a job hater

For the last 31 years, Kristen has been researching questions about being human – and in particular, “How does one know what to be when they grow up?” Starting with herself as the primary subject, she has inquired through the lenses of psychology, business, religious traditions and the arts. She started her career as a CPA and software developer for Accenture and later completed advanced degrees in mythology and body-centered psychology. Since 1990, she has consulted with companies about the intersection of human thriving and organizational performance.

Mollie O’Brien & Rich Moore – Musical Performance

Denver based musicians Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore are considered national musical treasures. Her voice stands and delivers in a completely original way. His impeccable guitar work is the perfect compliment to her versatility and together their egoless endeavors rouse the spirits of the songs and never cast the performances into cliches. Their latest CD is “Saints & Sinners” on Remington Road Records.

Alex Cruickshank – Forward To The Past —Stone Age Wisdom Meets Current Education

Alex is an Early Childhood Educator with a passion for learning. She has taught in a variety of schools using a variety of approaches before moving to Boulder and finding an approach that fits her. Alex has shared her work through Ignite Boulder, an article in Exchange Magazine and through the Boulder Journey School Study Tour Program.
